I had the Slaw dog and tots. The large beef dog was very juicy, but Slaw was minimal. The tots were crispy and could have used more salt. Dining options are either your car, or one of the concrete tables that needed cleaning. Iconic Route 66 traffic and train entertained with our wait. Worth the stop and affordable.

Cute place, friendly workers. They asked if our dogs wanted a sausage patty....of course they did! Ordered the bacon croissant, very good. Freshly made, had 4 slices of bacon. Also ordered a hashbrown, forgot to take a pic, but it looked similar to McD's, crisp and not too greasy. Oh and the bacon was fresh, crispy and delicious, "real bacon" not the warmed up precooked stuff.

The service was amazing. We went through with our 4 kids, and they were super patient with us and our lengthy ordering process. We ordered waters with our meals, and not only did they not charge us for the waters, they rang up the fries separately because it would be cheaper for us. The hot dogs were very good, as were the fries. Between us, we tried the hickory bbq, the chili cheese, the super dog, a plain dog, and the corndog. The price was great. We ate for right over $50.

About us

Flagstaff comfort food at it's finest with a “Take it Easy” kind of vibe!

The Eagles song written by songwriter Jackson Browne in 1971 was inspired by this very location.

Browne has said he was in the back of a van after his car broke down in Flagstaff and some new friends offered him a ride to Los Angeles. He was inspired to write some of the lyrics to the song after seeing a woman in a truck pulling out of what was then the red-and-mustard colored Wienerschnitzel restaurant at the corner of East Route 66 and North Switzer Canyon.

The Dog Haus has also won the Arizona Daily Sun’s Best of Flagstaff award for best breakfast burrito and best hot dog for 16 years in a row!
